HISTORY

SIVON-S AD was founded in 1994 by Stanka and Nayden Popov—visionary enthusiasts eager to take on bold technical challenges. For three decades, the Popov family and their team have worked on a diverse range of projects both domestically and internationally, many of which have won international awards and have been recognized by the European Spa Association.
Naiden Popov, the founder of the company, worked for many years at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences in the field of water purification. The idea for the construction of swimming pools was born years before the establishment of the company, from the increasing interest in these facilities after the democratic changes in Bulgaria.
After thorough research of the leading European pool equipment companies, and after on-site meetings in France with Aqualux, the Popovs returned to Bulgaria, translated the collected scientific literature from French and published a manual for pool construction.
After a few months they met with representatives of Astral, Rosa Gres, Pahlen, Opio Color and other leading European companies and so with their equipment began the development and establishment of SIVON on the Bulgarian and international market.

Construction of swimming pools in the holiday complex “Riviera”, Golden Sands – received the PRIMO awards for the 100 best hotels in the world for the period 2002-2008 annually.
Construction of swimming pools in Leda complex, Sofia
Construction of the first on the Balkan Peninsula Aquapark Ovostnik with warm mineral water
Beginning of cooperation with the German company “Balnea”, one of the leaders in the construction of spa centers in the world.
First projects.
Construction of swimming pools and SPA centre in Park Hotel PIRIN, Sandanski, awarded Best Spa Complex in the Balkans 2007.
Design and creation of the first flotation room in Bad Reichenhall, Germany
Opening of a new office and shop “Simeonovsko Shose” 9. Staff 59 people
Celebrating 20 years of SIVON – proven responsibility and professionalism
Construction of an underwater film shooting pool at New Boyana Film Studios, the largest facility of its kind on the continent. The pool measures 20 x 20 metres, and is 6 metres deep. Its volume is 2400 m³.
