Pool filtration / mechanical cleaning of water /

To experience the pleasure of your pool, you should not forget about the maintaince – the water must always be clean, transparent and decontaminated. Transparency is ensured by mechanical cleaning, but clean and decontaminated water – through chemical treatment.
By mechanical cleaning to remove insoluble contaminants (leaves, hair, grease, sand, etc.). At least 50% of the water flowing into the filtering system must come from the surface, as it is the most highly contaminated. Suction of the surface is using skimmers and spill channels.
Filtration of water with skimmers is recommended for families and rarely full loaded pools.
Alternative of the skimmers are overflow channels. They are recommended and even required for pools with an area of more than 200 m².
For family pools flow filtering system is chosen so that the total amount of water to pass through the filter for about six hours.
In public pools time for water treatment should be about four hours and for children pools about two hours.
When using sand filters, very important is the speed of filtration. For family pools the optimal speed is 50m³/h/m², i.e.50 m³ of water per hour passing through one square meter of sand.
The speed of filtering in public swimming pools is 30m³/h/m², in the children’s pools is 20m³/h/m².
Water circulation is provided by elements installed in the concrete, and the main role in the mechanical cleaning play water pump and filter.

Skimmers

Water is sucked from the pool of the skimmer, passes through the filtration pump and transfers for mechanically cleaning in the filter. Skimmers filter the largest parts of trash in their baskets, so they should be regularly cleaned to avoid unproper functioning of the filtration. In the baskets are placed preparations for the disinfection of water.

Siphons

In addition to draining the pool, they play a key role in filtering water. Water from the bottom of the pool, as well as skimmers, is applied to the filters to be mechanicaly cleaned.

Nozzles

A clean and filtered water is applied through the nozzles in the pool.

Vacuum point

In finding that a broom is placed at one end of the flexible hose. At the other end of the hose is placed flexible vacuum head. Thus, when placed on filtration to clean the bottom of the pool.

WATER PUMPS

The pool is very similar to a living organism – water pump is its heart, which provides water circulation, together with other elements of the filter system takes care of water to be clean, transparent, healthy and caressing.
Water pump suck water from the pool and create pressure in the hydraulic system to allow water to overcome the resistance of the filter and the other elements of the pool pipe line. Characteristics of the pumps determine the flow filtration.

FILTER

The main task of the filter is to “catch” insoluble organic and inorganic pollutants in water in the pool and prepare it for disinfection. The most commonly used is sand, diatomitni, cartridge (kartush type) filters.
In the sand filters water is purified by passing through several sand fractions and returned to the pool. They are most often use, as different operating modes are selected by using a multi-functional distribution tap.

Cartridge filters

They are of porous materials, which is mostly made on a textile base.

Diatomitnite filters

In diatomitnite filters, instead of sand is used diatomaceous earth – porous rock. This type filters retain particles with very small dimensions – thousandths of a millimeter.
